In most cases, your bank requires a restructuring report according to IDW S6. This primarily serves to assess the viability of your company, with the focus of the assessment being primarily on profitability and competitiveness. The restructuring report serves as the basis for the decision on the granting of loans for your company in the crisis; if you cannot submit this, you will be denied loans. The IDW-S6 standard was developed by the Institut der Wirtschaftsprüfer e.V. and includes all relevant aspects that can be included in the assessment by financiers and auditors and assessed according to a uniform standard. First, the essential company data is presented and economic influencing factors and interrelationships are analyzed. A central component of this analysis is the identification and evaluation of solutions for the identified factors. Their effectiveness and feasibility are the most important evaluation aspects.

• Analysis of the crisis stage and the cause of the imbalance
• Examination of a risk of insolvency and analysis of the measures that can be taken or have already been taken to avert insolvency
• Description of the adapted business model and guiding principles of the restructured company
• Preparation of a company plan and a summary assessment of the restructuring ability
• Feasibility of the elaborated measures in terms of time
If the assessment reveals a high probability of problem-free financing during the restructuring period, an independent restoration of your competitiveness and a medium-term industry-standard return as well as a foreseeable increase in attractiveness for investors, then your company is considered to be capable of restructuring.
