starkpartners consulting GmbH supported the shareholders of PMG Precision Mechanics Group GmbH as exclusive M&A advisor as part of the strategic investor process. With closing on July 1, 2026, the shares were transferred to the Spanish Piedrafita Group.

The company
PMG Precision Mechanics Group GmbH, headquartered in Wilsdruff near Dresden, is one of Saxony’s leading specialists for high-end CNC machining. For more than 25 years, the company has been manufacturing precision components and complete system solutions made of aluminum, titanium, stainless steel and plastics—from machining complex geometries and surface treatment through to quality assurance. Customers include well-known names in the aerospace industry such as Airbus, Liebherr, Diehl Aviation, Pilatus and Premium AeroTec. Around 75 employees produce at the site to EN 9100, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards—CO₂-neutral since 2021, with its own photovoltaic system.
The transaction logic
With the Piedrafita Group, PMG gains a strategic owner that is specifically leveraging European growth momentum in Defence and Aerospace. Based in Madrid, the company has been developing high-load mobility and chassis solutions for defense and motorsport applications for more than 30 years and is internationally positioned with its subsidiaries. For Piedrafita, the acquisition means expanding its own manufacturing depth by certified precision machining in Germany; for PMG, it opens access to international defense and aviation programs and the perspective of strengthening the Saxony site over the long term.
The role of starkpartners
PMG’s shareholders were advised exclusively by starkpartners consulting GmbH throughout the entire process. The M&A advisory firm—specialized in the mid-market and complex special situations, with offices including Meerbusch and Dresden—was responsible for the design and execution of the strategic investor process: from transaction preparation and the targeted approach of strategic investors in other European countries through to negotiation and structuring of the transaction. The process culminated in the transfer of shares to Piedrafita, with closing on July 1, 2026.
“Europe’s aerospace and defense industry is investing—and the mid-market is the backbone of these supply chains. With Piedrafita, we have found a strategic owner for PMG that will carry the company’s technological substance forward internationally and give the Saxony site a long-term growth perspective.”
